Men's Underwear - Changing Trends

Over the past 2-3 years we have seen the biggest changes to the men's underwear market since the turn of the century.

For the first time ever, more men now buy their underwear online than they do on the high street.

A recent study by The Huffington Post showed 54% of men now buy underwear online compared to 46% who buy on the high street or in department stores. The reason behind this change in shopping is mainly due to convenience, who wants to go underwear shopping at the weekend when you can buy online, anytime you like?

This change in shopping habits has also led to an increase in the frequency underwear is purchased. With most men now buying underwear every 2-3 months rather than every 6-12 months.

Briefs are now the most popular style of men's underwear with 27% of men surveyed picking the style as their favorite kind. Boxers followed closely in 2nd place picking up 22% of the vote with trunks coming in third with 15% of the votes.

Black underwear has been the most popular colour for some years now, however recently blue underwear has closed the gap and now just behind black in the popularity polls with 22% of the vote.

However some men refuse to change (quite literally!), with 24% of all men surveyed admitting to owning underwear that was 5+ years old and 15% of men admitting they owned underwear that was over 10 years old.
